I recently blogged about and showed some before pictures of what the teacher’s lounge looked like before we began the facelift. It was very dark and not so inviting. The teachers only get, if they are lucky 30 minutes to eat there lunch, so they do deserve I nice place to go don’t you think?
I picked a nice fresh color for the walls, Crystal Blue by BM. I then went with yellow and gray for the accents in the room. Here are the after pictures, it’s quite a difference don’t you think?

The lounge already had round tables and glass tops so they asked me to keep the tables since they recenty just purchased the glass. Otherwise I had something else in mind. I did change out the table cloths, I got them at Target and they ended up working out great!
Since the original seating in the room only amounted to hard plastic chairs I wanted to give them something that was a little more comfy. I got a great deal on this couch at World Market, and the steel color worked out great in the room.
The budget did not have enough room for a new chair and desk for the office, so I repainted the original one in AS paris grey chalk paint and recovered the chair seat in chevron fabric.
I added these little mirrors to the wall behind the desk. I got them at IKEA for $2.99. I know you have seen them there, they come in raw wood and I just gave them a little attitude by painting and stenciling them.
I will have more later, have to get on with my day, lots to do and not enough hours. I am sure I am not the only one out there that feels that way.
HINT: I am changing it up today! Do you have any hints for me on using AS chalk paint? I have used it several times now and I feel like I still have a lot to learn. Love to hear what works for you.
